Letters #3
A key take away from Ephesians is that when we embrace the love of Christ, we will also embrace the way of life that Christ loves.
John Mackey calls Ephesians the “distilled essence of the Christian religion”. The Henderson side of my family hails from the Shetland Islands north of Scotland, so I’m always drawn to the spiritual heritage of that region. John Mackey grew up in Scotland and became the third president of Princeton. He came to faith while reading Ephesians in a field in Scotland in his early teen years. He would later say that it is “Truth that sings” | “Doctrine set to music”. Paul wrote this letter to the church in Ephesus around 62 AD while sitting in prison in Rome. He also wrote Colossians and Philemon during this time.
Will you embrace the truth of Christ’s great love for you? Listen closely to Paul in this letter and be open to the Holy Spirit singing the truth of the good news about Jesus.
