Our Staff

Lead Pastor

David A. Staff has been Christ Community Church’s Lead Pastor since 1993, previously serving churches in Indiana, North Dakota, and Colorado. His lifelong bride is Pamela, and together they have two adult, married children (Cameron to Janelle, and Briana to Joshua), and four grandchildren. Raised in southeastern Wisconsin, David’s educational preparation came through completed undergraduate study at Grace College (Winona Lake, IN) and graduate work (Th.M., and D.Min.) at Dallas Theological Seminary (Dallas, TX). His past ministry experience includes ministry with youth, Christian education, evangelism (First EFC in Grand Forks, ND) and senior pastor leadership (Mountain View Church, Colorado, and currently at Christ Community). Pastor Staff’s current ministry responsibilities at Christ Community Church include ministry vision, direction, and implementation with the Leadership Team, preaching/teaching, and overall staff alignment and coordination. David teaches the truth of Scripture in a variety of settings: youth & college ministry, evening adult classes in Christ Community Sojourners College, worship service teaching, and in away-from-Ames opportunities (speaking at ministry staff conferences, overseas Bible/Theology classes and retreats). He also serves in a part-time, volunteer role as the Team Pastor for the Iowa State Cyclone football team, leading a coaches Bibles study and the Priority-One pre-game huddles for the players. David has traveled in short-term mission in Venezuela, the Baltics, Europe, extensively in Central Asia, and more recently in Bolivia. Closer to home, golf, athletics, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers football put an extra step in David’s get-along…
